VACANCY PASTOR-Rev. Mark Weber, pastor of St. Matthew, Cedar Bluffs has accepted to be our vacancy pastor.  Worship will begin at 11:00 a.m.  We hope to start Bible Class in September.  Your patience is appreciated during this transition. 
 
ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS AND PARENTS:  Normally I put a form for college students to fill out their name, college address, email address, year of college, expected year of graduation, phone  number, etc.  It’s difficult to know who has graduated, who pursued a working career after high school, who is going more than 4 years, etc.  With that being said, PLEASE if you the college student (or parent) would like to receive the newsletter throughout the school year please write your information down and put in my mailbox at church or drop it off at the Parish Office.  Thanks, Joyce
 
LLL will meet September 9, 2010 at 7:30 pm to view the CD "Fly Wheel" filmed before "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof".  Come, join us!  NOTE:  The time  listed in the 2010 Program as 7 p.m. is in error; it will be at 7:30 p.m. 

CHURCH DIRECTORIES AND CHURCH COOKBOOKS. If you have a church directory or church cookbook possibly from a deceased family member or if you bought too many, would you consider donating them to the church?  If so, please bring them to the parish office or put on top of the mailboxes and let the parish secretary know at 654-3663. If you would like payment please indicate the amount so we can pass that on to the recipient.  We get calls every now and then for both books, but is especially nice to have directories on hand when new families join the church.
 
Although omitted from the calendar church council will meet Wednesday, September 8 at 8:00 p.m.
 
Sunday school and  Adult Bible Class will begin for the new year on Sunday, September 12.  Bring a friend!!
 
SAD NEWS-We have received our last Hy-Vee “Cash for Kids” fundraiser check.  It totaled $555.85 for the 2009-2010 and sadly that will be it.  A copy of the letter from Store Director Mike Christensen will be printed in September’s newsletter.  Thank you to everyone who helped our school in the past several years by saving their receipts for us.
 
FAMC is offering a grief support group for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The group will meet three consecutive Thursdays, September 9, 16, 23, 2010 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Health Park Plaza on the FAMC campus.  A flyer will be printed also in the September newsletter.
 
A Stephen Ministry Workshop is being held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Omaha on Saturday, October 2.  The cost is $15 per person or $50 per congregation. Registration forms are available at the Parish Office or by going online at www.stephenminsitry.org/workshop. More information will be in the September newsletter.

HEY K.I.D.S.! Don’t forget to keep putting money in your stamp box after church each Sunday. It’s fun to save money and further the Lord’s work at the same time. During the summer your stamps may not come very week – just keep checking.    

Hey Parents! Baptism birthdays and holidays are excellent times to give stamps to K.I.D.S.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with our after school program from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. each school day.  Contact Connie Eckert or any school board member if you are interested in helping or have other questions concerning the program.

A Biblical Tour of Israel:  (March 2-11, 2011)  Starting with Beersheba, where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob received the promise and on to Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and many other places where Jesus traveled and ministered.  The price is very reasonable at $3370 which includes all flights, all lodging, 2 meals a day, all entrance fees, guide and daily Bible Study leader.   Rev Darold Reiner (LCMS) is leading this tour from Kalispell, MT.  Contact him at 406-752-1205 or reiner@centurytel.net for full brochure.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS -  Adult Bible Study is held every Sunday at 9:00 am in the church basement.  Please contact Neil or Shelli Panning at 402-654-3507 if you have any questions.  We hope you can join us in learning about and worshipping our Lord.
